The Cat's Lair

My mugWelcome to Creative Cats. I'm Frauke, renaissance woman, and I help people with technical problems or specialist requirements. I specialise in web site programming, but I've turned my hand to pretty much anything in my life. Except politics. Don't ask me to do politics. I'd rather muck out a herd of pigs.

Anyway, back at the site...

Right now I'm helping a number of businesses to run affordable web sites (despite the recession.)

This being mainly a help and resources site, the best way to keep up-to-date with the latest developments is to look at my blog and subscribe to the feed. Won't cost you anything. Neither will registration to the site (which will give you a few extra goodies, such as downloads.) All completely free and without obligation.

If you're a DNN module developer using VSE ('cause it's free, yay!) and would like to sell your modules without giving away your source code, you may have come across a small hitch: How on earth do you persuade VSE to pre-compile your module code? And how do you add that to your module package?

Well, look no further than my new article: Module Packaging for the Terminally Broke. It's all there in black and white. OK, cream. It's so much nicer, don't you think?

If you've ever been wondering how you can add permissions other than 'View Module'  and 'Edit Module' to your DNN module settings, wonder no longer.

I was faced with the same problem not long ago, and after reading an excellent article by Vicenç Masanas on the subject (and some tinkering) I managed to get something together. And 'cause I'm nice I tidied up my notes on the process and posted them here for your edification and enjoyment. So run, don't walk to my scribblings on the subject if you're interested...

If you have any questions or comments on the article, please post them here.

Fed up with the YourCompany prefix in your modules and tables? Here's how to change it...
